Where leaders gain
a different lens
A practice built on the belief that leaders grow through sustained relationship, honest conversation, and genuine encounter with the world beyond their professional horizon.
The founding conviction
Being an executive is a job.
Being a leader is a calling.
Sillage Leadership is here to support that journey.
Most leadership development improves tools. Sillage Leadership helps leaders develop perspective.
Senior leaders are increasingly isolated
Surrounded by information but confined by familiar patterns. Peer networks grow intellectually homogeneous. Decision-making cycles compress. The pressure to optimize crowds out the space to think broadly.
Generally, leadership development responds by offering more frameworks, more content, more tools. What it rarely offers is perspective — the kind that only comes from genuine encounter with people, contexts, and ways of working that are meaningfully different from your own.
Two interconnected forms
of deep work
The right relationship, not a predetermined formula
Leader mentorship at Sillage is a durational, relationship-based practice: a sustained one-to-one accompaniment of a leader over time, built on a relationship that deepens as it continues. The work centers on how a leader thinks — the questions they hold, the judgments they face, the perspective they bring — rather than coaching toward a fixed target or a set of prescribed techniques.
Engagement runs as a monthly retainer, with two meetings per month — one a fixed anchor and one shaped by what the client is carrying at that moment — and asynchronous support between sessions.
Sillage mentors are drawn from diverse backgrounds and matched with care. What they share is depth of experience, honest engagement, and a sustained interest in the leader's journey — not just their current position.
Different fields, same table — by design
The retreats are built around a deliberate premise: that leaders from genuinely different sectors — brought into sustained conversation with each other and with winemakers, artists, founders, civic leaders, and multigenerational business owners — will see things they wouldn't otherwise see.
Cross-sector exchange isn't incidental here. It's the architecture. And the table is literal — the primary conversations in Sillage retreats happen around extended meals. The international settings are chosen not for their geography but for what a different cultural relationship with work, time, and life makes possible in the room.
Not a coaching firm. Not a training program.
A relationship.
Sillage occupies a distinct space between mentorship, cultural exchange, and intellectual retreat — sustained over time, not delivered in a weekend.
Mentors and retreat participants are deliberately drawn from outside conventional leadership contexts — bringing friction, novelty, and honest difference.
Practical clarity and genuine transformation are not in tension here. Clients seek strategic focus, renewed creativity, and relief from isolation — and often find the work goes deeper than that.
